Here are  the rules:

  1. Pick a team to root on.

  2. Grab a drink (beer, mixed drinks, whatever. We used Beast Ice )

  3. No fair switching teams mid-game. Doing so means you have to drink triple.

This is at LEAST a two-player game... but the more the merrier, so invite friends.

During the game:

You drink when your team...

Socials happen when...

You will also drink when...

Hockey--Another drinking game

What You Need:

Deck of Cards

How To Play:

Alright all of you puck heads, here is a game that should bring a toothless smile to your face. This game is called Hockey, but unlike the ice sport, this game does not require you to put on a pair of skates or or helmet, unless you really feel the need. All you need is a group of people that can be split into two equal teams, a deck of cards and the ever-present ready supply of the beverage of your choice. All Set? Then let's blow the whistle, drop the deck and get the game going!

Seat everyone in a circle or around a table. Players begin the game by counting off in a clockwise manner. Odd Players are on one team (call them the "Freaks", they'll love it!) and the Even Players are on the other, (call them the "Squares", they'll hate you.) Players should remain seated in the same locations, so that no two players from the same team are sitting next to each other.

Once the players have been divided into two equal teams, deal out all of the cards, face down, to the players.

The player who is holding the three of clubs in their hand lays it down and the player to their right tries to match the number of the card (a three, duh!), the suit of the card obviously does not matter.

If the player to the right of the player starting CANNOT match the number of the first card thrown down, then they put down a card that they think that the player to their right cannot match. Play continues around the table in this manner until a player can match a card that has been thrown down.

If the player to the right CAN match the number of the card laid down, then their team has sc-c-c-o-o-ored!.

Once a team has scored, all of the players on that team put their hands in the air, waive them back and forth and yell, "Whoosh, Whoosh, Whoosh!"

The players on the scoring team then turn to the players on their right and make them drink for as long as they want. So if one player wants to be a jerk then they can make a particular player drink much longer than any of the other players.

The cards are then swept off of the table and re-dealt to all of the players. Play continues as before.

When the other team scores, they turn to the players on their left and make the players drink for as long as they want. So all of those jerks can be given their just payback.

Play continues in this manner, with the first team to score having the players to their right drink, and the other team having the players to their left drink.

The game is played in three periods. Each time the cards are dealt it is considered a period. After three periods a winner is declared and that team gets to gloat over the losers. Taunting is encouraged. After three periods, the players can move around to change places or teams if they so choose. Free agency is not allowed and trades during play are not advised, but if they players all agree then by all means wheel and deal away!

Hockey Another Version

Hockey

Instructions

Requirements:

Play:

2 teams of 2 sitting across from each other as in the game of Bridge.

Each time you go through the whole deck, that equals one period. As in hockey, you play 3 periods per game.

Each period consists of 3 hands.

You may deal 5 cards to each player in only one of the 3 hands, and the other 2 hands you must deal out 4 cards to each player.

The object is to match the card played previously. And drinks are dished out accordingly. A pass is when a single match is made. A check is when 3 identical cards in a row are played. A rumble is when 4 identical cards in a row are played. A score is when 2 matches are made by the same team with no check in between.

Jacks are wild. Jacks pass ONLY and NEVER score, check or rumble.

The person opposite the dealer is "Skippy the Zamboni driver" and must clean the ice between hands. If he doesn't do it before the next hand is dealt or doesn't make it clean enough, he drinks. Also Skippy is responsible for filling up everyone drinks or fetching beers. Hence the term "Skippying beers."

Nobody else but Skippy may touch the ice. If someone does they must drink. Hence the term "You touched the ice! Drink!"

The winner of the game is the team with the highest score. If the game is tied after 3 periods (decks) you will continue play in sudden death overtime until the first score is made.

Play begins to the left of the dealer, and a card is placed face up in the middle of the table. The next player may now play a card, and play continues until all cards are played. Skippy then cleans the ice, and the next hand begins by playing off the current card on top of the discard pile. When all cards are played, pass the deck to the left and you now have a new dealer and a new Skippy for the next period.
